Utilities Extension Project

North 2 UEP (Construction Completed)

North 2 Utilities Extension Project General Information
The City of Cape Coral has contracted with Greeley & Hansen to design the potable water, sanitary sewer,  dual water (irrigation), storm drain, and road reconstruction in the area known as North 2.

The proposed project work area is approximately five (5) square miles, with about 8,800 parcels. The project area is located in the northwest and northeast quadrants of the City of Cape Coral and is generally bound on the west by Old Burnt Store Road; on the north by the Embers Pkwy, Shadroe Canal, Hermosa Canal, and Balmoral Canal; on the east by Del Prado Boulevard; and on the south by Pine Island Road. On May 4, 2015, City Council approved the map of North 2, which included additional parcels between the Bonefish Canal and Embers Parkway.

On September 14, 2020, City Council approved Resolution 216-20 to provide an additional 60 days for developed properties to make their required Plumbers Connection. With this change, owners of developed properties within North 2 UEP now have 240 days from the date of the Notice of Availability (NOA) to connect to the City’s water, sewer, and irrigation systems.

Construction of North 2 started in November 2017.  To see the project area, please click here.

Undergrounding of Utility/Communication Lines
The earlier proposal to place electric, cable, and communications lines underground in a defined area of North 2 was voted down by the property owners.  The City has no plans to place any of these services underground as part of the North 2 UEP.
