Raise the Flag Fundraiser

The City of Cape Coral is proud to launch the “Raise the Flag” fundraiser — a community-driven effort to build the tallest free-standing American flagpole in Florida. Standing 250 feet tall at Bernice Braden Park, this monumental flag will honor America’s 250th birthday and serve as a powerful symbol of freedom, democracy, and unity.

This project will be funded entirely through community donations from residents, businesses, and anyone who believes in what the American flag represents. Every dollar raised will bring us one step closer to creating a lasting tribute to those who have served, those who continue to serve, and the values that unite us all.

As City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn shared,

“This isn’t just about a flagpole — it’s about showing how much we care about our country, our freedoms, and each other. It’s up to all of us to unify and get it done for our community and Southwest Florida.”
