Raise the Flag Fundraiser
Cape Coral’s “Raise the Flag” community has done it! Thanks to the generosity of our residents, businesses, and community partners, the City is proud to announce that the tallest free‑standing American flagpole in Florida is nearing completion and will officially be raised on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Bernice Braden Park, 2051 Cape Coral Parkway East.
This 250‑foot flagpole, funded entirely through community support, will honor America’s 250th birthday and stand as a lasting symbol of freedom, democracy, and unity at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge. The event is open to the public, and no reservation is required to attend. The ceremony will culminate with the flag being raised for the first time, celebrating the public support that helped make the project possible.
As City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn shared,
“This isn’t just about a flagpole — it’s about showing how much we care about our country, our freedoms, and each other. It’s up to all of us to unify and get it done for our community and Southwest Florida.”
Join us in making history. Your tax-deductible donation will help raise a symbol that future generations of Cape Coral can look to with pride.
