Seahawk Airfield at Festival Park

seahawk airfield planeThis 13.5-acre special-use facility is a wide open area with a landing strip built to service radio-controlled airplanes and helicopters. The flying field is overseen by the Cape Coral R/Seahawks Club through an agreement with the City.  Members fly at the fields throughout the week and on weekends.  All pilots must have a valid AMA full membership to fly in the field and pay additional yearly maintenance and user fees. Pilots are required to wear their AMA identification while flying. There is a two-week guest flying membership, after which joining the Club is requested.

“The Gathering of the Giants” is a major annual event held at the park in March.  Spectators are welcome to stop by and watch the flyers in action.  Bring your chairs and enjoy the sights behind the safety fence.  For more information on the Cape Coral R/Seahawks, visit www.RSeahawks.org
