Waste Pro Summer Pickup Time Ending September 30

Waste Pro Summer Pickup hours end on September 30, and the regular pickup time of 6 a.m. resumes on October 1.
The City of Cape Coral contracts solid waste removal services to help keep our City's streets clean and safe. Each residence is provided with a tan bin for household waste and a green bin for recyclables. These bins are the property of the City and must remain with the dwelling. Trash day:
- Trash collection services run Monday through Friday. Check your area's trash day online.
- Garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste are collected on the same day.
- Service will not occur on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. When these holidays fall on a weekday, trash service will be delayed one day from the holiday for the remainder of the week.
- Bins should be at the road's edge, with wheels and handles facing the house.
- Bring your bins in from the road when it's not your scheduled trash day.
Extra garbage and recycling:
- When your garbage bin is full, extra garbage should be placed in plastic bags next to the cart.
- Extra recycling should be set out in a clearly labeled cardboard box.
- Cardboard should be broken down and placed in the recycle bin.
Yard Waste:
The City provides collection of residential horticulture waste, including trimmed branches and limbs from trees and shrubs, grass clippings, fallen fruit, leaves, weeds, and palm fronds.
- Small yard waste accumulations under 50 pounds should be bundled, tied, neatly stacked, or placed in approved bags or garbage bins within 3 feet of the curb or street edge.
- Loose palm fronds should be stacked neatly with all fronds facing the same direction, and yard waste must not block pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
- Residents should not place waste on property that is owned or occupied by others without permission.
- When a resident hires a company to trim trees or provide other landscaping services, the service provider is responsible for disposing of the residue and rubbish resulting from the work. They may not leave anything behind for the City solid waste contractor to collect.
Residential Bulk Waste Collection:
- Bulk items should not be stacked.
- All items need to be placed within 3 feet of the road.
- Any item that can fit in a trash bin should be placed in the bin.
- "Move-Outs" are not part of the normal bulk pick-up process and must be scheduled for removal. Note: A fee may be imposed.
- When a resident hires a company to work on fences or provide contractor services, the service provider is responsible for disposing of all residue and rubbish resulting from the work. They may not leave anything behind for City contractors to collect.
Bulk Waste Drop-Off:
Residents can drop off bulk waste at the North Cape Government Complex, 1200 Kismet Parkway, Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Site can be accessed from Northwest 14th Avenue.
Bulk, Household Chemical Waste:
The City holds semi-annual drop-off events to collect bulk items and household chemical waste at City Hall, 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard. The next drop-off event will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 7 to 11 a.m.
