EnerGov System Unavailable During Upgrades May 21–26

The City of Cape Coral will complete a planned upgrade to the City’s EnerGov permitting and licensing system from May 21–26, 2026, to improve performance reliability and deliver new features and enhancements. The system will be unavailable while upgrades are in progress.

EnerGov and its associated online services will be unavailable beginning Thursday, May 21, at 4 p.m. During this time, permitting, inspections, licensing, and related online services will be unavailable to the public through the EnerGov Customer Self-Service portal. Full system functionality is expected to resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Residents, contractors, and businesses are encouraged to plan ahead and complete any time-sensitive permitting, inspection, or licensing transactions before 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 21. The City appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as these important system improvements are completed.

Planned system downtime is scheduled beginning Thursday, May 21, 2026, when upgrade activities will start at 4:00 PM EST. On Friday, May 22, 2026, the EPL/EnerGov system will be unavailable all day, and permitting, inspections, licensing, and related online services will be unavailable during this period. From Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day), the time is reserved for post-upgrade monitoring, validation, and issue resolution if necessary. Full system functionality is expected to resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
