The City of Cape Coral is hosting the 35th annual Tour De Cape cycling event on Sunday, Jan. 25.
Cyclists participating in Tour De Cape will use roadways throughout portions of Cape Coral (marked in yellow on the map) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists are urged to use caution and safely share the roads with cyclists.
Weekend festivities begin with a kickoff celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at The Westin, outside Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro, 5961 Silver King Blvd. Participants may pick up race packets, maps and T-shirts. The first 250 participants to pick up their packet receive a Tour de Cape-branded item.
Tour De Cape continues Saturday, Jan. 24, at Rotary Park, 5505 Rose Garden Road, with a 5K run/walk and a mini kids bike ride.
The event concludes Sunday, Jan. 25, with the Tour De Cape bike rides. Cyclists may choose from 15-, 30-, 62-, or 100-mile bike tours through the southwest, northwest and northeast regions of Cape Coral.
