Applications Open for the 2026 Cape Coral Citizen’s Academy

The City of Cape Coral is now accepting applications for the 2026 Citizen’s Academy, an engaging program designed to give residents an in-depth look at their local government.
The 2026 session runs from February 10 through April 1, with weekly classes on Tuesdays. The final class and graduation will take place on Wednesday, April 1. Highlights include:
- Tours of city facilities and staff interactions.
- Understanding complex decision-making processes.
- Insights into the complexities of running one of Florida’s largest cities.
Participants will explore city departments, including the Police Department, City Hall, Fire Services, and more. Sessions are held one day per week for up to eight hours each day, and the entire academy lasts eight weeks.
