Cape Coral Warns of Event Vendor Scam

The City of Cape Coral has been made aware of a scammer on Facebook attempting to take vendor payments for City events.

The scammer is requesting payment via money-transferring phone apps using a non-government email.

The City of Cape Coral never collects vendor fees via third-party applications like PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.

If you think you may have fallen victim to this scam, please file a police report with the Cape Coral Police Department by calling their non-emergency line at 239-574-3223 or by visiting the police station, 1100 Cultural Park Boulevard.
