Office of Communications

The Office of Communications serves as residents’ eyes and ears in the City of Cape Coral. We value transparency and convenience, bringing important meetings and other information directly to residents via original content on social media, other digital platforms, and CapeTV. We also work closely with the news media and handle media relations for the City.

The Office of Communications is overseen by the Communications Manager and consists of media relations and marketing staff as well as the City's 311 Call Center.  The 311 Call Center, formerly Citizens Action Center, answers an average of 2,500 phone calls and 300 e-mail questions and concerns from our citizens monthly.

The office is responsible for producing the monthly virtual City newsletter and the On The Move publication, conducts the biennial Citizen Survey, oversees the operation of the City's cable channel, CapeTV, and supervises the production and broadcast of live meetings in the City Council Chambers.  The Office of Communications also disseminates all press releases and manages the city's social media accounts to share important information directly to our community and engage with residents and visitors on a variety of topics.

The Office of Communications monitors the City's website and provides support, along with the IT Department, to department staff to keep the information on the website updated.
