Message from the Customer Service-Permitting Manager:
Customer Service-Permitting Division, is a vital part of the Development Services Department, providing all building permits for property development within the City of Cape Coral.  A properly obtained building permit is granting legal permission to construct or alter a structure, install, or replace electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing systems according to Florida Building Codes and Standards currently in force.

Each member of our team recognizes the importance of clear and timely communication with residents, contractors, and business owners.  Together we continue to improve service delivery through both electronic and in-person permitting. The Customer Service Permitting Division is fully dedicated to helping guide customers through the process and help complete their projects. We are proudly serving today’s development demands while planning for tomorrow’s community needs.

To enhance the permitting processing experience, the City of Cape Coral Development Services Department has converted to a new permitting software system named EnerGov.  To access the EnerGov user manual  or to obtain answers to frequently asked questions related to EnerGov , please visit
