Citywide Municipal Water Shutdown and Boil Water Notice for City of Cape Coral

Sept. 28, 2022

Due to water system distribution pipeline damage, the City of Cape Coral's potable water system has been temporarily shut down until repairs can be made. This will make water pressure low and as a result, a citywide boil water notice has been issued, effective immediately. We recognize that most of Cape Coral does not have power to boil water, so please use bottled water for drinking.

What should I do? What does this mean?

DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
