Results of Impaired Driving Operation Drive Hammered, Get Slammered

(February 12, 2024) - The Cape Coral Police Department conducted impaired driving enforcement (Operation Drive Hammered, Get Slammered) on February 8, 2024, targeting impaired driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in forty-five citations. 

The detailed results are as follows:

Traffic stop for speed (66 in a 40 MPH zone) led to the discovery that the driver was impaired; double refusal.

Traffic stop for a stop sign violation led to the discovery that the driver was impaired; double refusal. Investigation further revealed that Holloway’s license was permanently revoked and that he had an extraditable warrant for contempt of court.

****The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding.  Cape Coral currently ranks 7th out of 38 agencies in Impaired Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the city, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
