Results of Aggressive Driving Enforcement, Operation Safe Driving, Save Lives

(January 16, 2024)- The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a traffic saturation (Operation Safe Driving, Save Lives) on January 29, 2024 specifically targeting speed and aggressive driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in eighty-two citations.

*****The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding. Cape Coral currently ranks 11th out of 37 agencies in Speeding or Aggressive Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the city, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
