Results of Impaired Driving Operation You Booze, You Lose

(January 16, 2024) - The Cape Coral Police Department conducted impaired driving enforcement (Operation Safe in December) on January 12, 2024, targeting impaired driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in forty-five citations.

The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding.  Cape Coral currently ranks 7^th out of 37 agencies in Impaired Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the City, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
