Results of Impaired Driving Operation Safe in December

(December 12, 2023) - The Cape Coral Police Department conducted impaired driving enforcement (Operation Safe in December) on December 11, 2023, targeting impaired driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in eleven citations.

The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding.  Cape Coral currently ranks 7^th out of 37 agencies in Impaired Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the City, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
