(October 9, 2023)--The following is in reference to the following CR’s 23-007651, 23-011829, 23-010997, 23-007951, 23-011705, 23-008221, 23-008441, 23-009259, 23-014969, 23-009039, 23-015545 & 23-008960.
Between March 28th and May 11th, 2023, the Cape Coral Police Department had responded to various locations across the city of Cape Coral in reference to past occurred residential burglaries of homes that are owned and managed by Mainstreet Renewal and Progressive Residential. The burglaries consisted of three black male subjects who entered the homes through keypads on the front door locks which were acquired through an online app called “Rently”. After access was granted to the residence, the males selected certain appliances, mainly refrigerators and microwaves, loaded them into a rented U-Haul vehicle, and then proceeded to sell the items on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.
On March 30, 2023, the Cape Coral Police Department was informed by the Punta Gorda Police Department that they arrested three black males at 13280 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, FL after responding to a burglary in progress. One of the black males was identified as Woolf Exulus (DOB 10/26/2005, of 1529 Durso Ct, Immokalee, FL).
Through investigative techniques, the Punta Gorda Police Department obtained information that revealed multiple crimes committed throughout Lee County and Cape Coral. With the information obtained from the Punta Gorda Police Department, Detectives with the Cape Coral Property Crimes Unit conducted an investigation and were able to determine that Woolf Exulus committed additional similar burglaries within Cape Coral. Upon completion of the investigation, warrant requests were submitted to the State Attorney’s Office, which were approved. Woolf Exulus was charged with the following crimes:
• 12 Counts of Burglary of a Dwelling 810.02, Second Degree Felony
• 11 Counts of Grand Theft $750-5000, Third Degree Felony
• 1 Count of Petit Theft, 812.014, Second Degree Misdemeanor
• 1 Count of Criminal Mischief more than $200, 806.13, First Degree Misdemeanor
Woolf Exulus was charged as an adult on all counts and was arrested on these warrants on September 14th, 2023.
