Park Robbery Leads to the Arrest of Three Juveniles

(June 16, 2023) On June 15, 2023, Cape Coral Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit made the arrest of Zachariah Samuel Goswick (W/M 01-08-2006, 105 SE 2nd Ave), Noah McClanahan (W/M 04-30-2007, 605 SE 6th Terrace), and Zachariah Lee Allen Alcorn (W/M 04-10-2007, 545 SE 2nd Street) at their residences upon the probable cause established for Robbery F.S.S. 812.13(2)(c), Felony Battery F.S.S. 784.041(1) and Obstructing Justice F.S.S. 914.22(1)(e).

It was reported by an uninvolved citizen that a person later identified as the victim called 9-1-1 on behalf of the victim, who needed emergency medical services after allegedly being “jumped” at Cultural Park located at 500-Block of Cultural Park Boulevard South.

Officers responded to the scene and met with the victim, who stated three teenagers, later identified as Mr. Goswick, Mr. McClanahan, and Mr. Alcorn, took turns beating the victim, causing significant injuries after an unprovoked attack. The victim reported that these three suspects took the victim’s phone and credit cards before fleeing the scene.

Detectives from our Violent Crimes Unit responded and spoke to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital. The victim reported being beaten, and their belongings were taken. The victim was able to track the stolen cell phone to the nearby location where one of the suspects lived. The cell phone was discarded in a neighbor’s trash bin. Detectives were able to locate one of the suspects who lived in the area and confirmed accounts of them being at the park earlier. Detectives were able to pinpoint the other two involved, and upon investigation, all reported being involved in the altercation.

The investigation revealed that the victim was sitting in a pavilion at the park, and Mr. Goswick, Mr. McClanahan, and Mr. Alcorn attacked the victim in an alleged ambush-style attack and stole the victim’s belongings, including the victim’s cellphone, so they unable to call for help.

Mr. Goswick, Mr. McClanahan, and Mr. Alcorn were all transported to Lee County Jail.
