Property Crimes Unit Makes Arrest After Intricate Investigation

(April 14, 2023)- On April 13, 2023, Cape Coral Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit placed additional charges on Handy Granda (W/M 08-08-1986, Transient) for felony charges after an intricate investigation. 

The investigation revealed that Mr. Granda burglarized, stole, and pawned numerous items of value here in Cape Coral. Mr. Granda is currently at the Lee County Jail from a previous narcotics arrest when he ran and was caught by Cape Coral Police Officers on February 27, 2023. This arrest led to the discovery of evidence to support Mr. Granda’s connection to vast property crimes across our city.

Mr. Granda was subsequently transported to Lee County Jail.

Mr. Granda was charged with the following combined charges:

* Grand Theft of Motor Vehicle F.S.S. 812.014(2)(c)(6).

*Grand Theft $20,000 or More Less than $100,000, F.S.S. 812.014(2)(b)(1).

* Dealing in Stolen Property F.S.S. 812.019(1), [ 3 Counts].

*Burglary of a Conveyance F.S.S. 810.02(4)(b).

*Burglary of a Structure F.S.S. 810.02(4)(a).

*Grand Theft $750 or More Less than $5,000 F.S.S. 812.014(2)(c)(1). [2 Counts]

* Criminal Mischief Over $200 Less Than $5000 F.S.S. 806.13(1)(b)(2).

*Criminal Mischief Under $200 F.S.S. 806.13(1)(b)(1).

ARRESTED: Handy Granda (W/M 08-08-1986, Transient).
