Results of Impaired Driving Operation (Have a Happy New Year)

(January 2, 2023) - The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a grant-funded impaired driving enforcement operation (Have a Happy New Year) on December 30, 2022, targeting impaired driving. Funding was provided by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in thirty-seven citations (eight for violating a traffic control or signal device). One driver was stopped without a seatbelt. We remind and thank the motoring public for always wearing their seatbelts.

Quagliano

ARRESTED: Daniel David Quagliano (W/M, 05-12-1962, 3005 Beechwood Dr, Cummings, GA)
CHARGES: DUI-Influence of Alcohol or Drugs.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black motorcycle for a stop sign violation. During the course of the traffic stop, signs of impairment were observed from the driver and a DUI investigation ensued. At the conclusion of the investigation, Mr. Quagliano was arrested for DUI. Breath refused.

*No Driver’s License
 
Mr. Mayorga-Cardoza was the subject of a disturbance call at this location. Upon arrival, Patrol Officers observed signs of impairment from Mr. Mayorga-Cordoza, who was attempting to start a motorcycle. It was also discovered that he did not possess a license. Breath: .217/.216.
