Community Resilience

Community resilience is the ability to prepare for anticipated hazards, adapt to changing conditions, and use available resources to respond to, withstand, and recover from adverse situations. This can include integrating climate change adaptation into all planning decisions, resisting development in the floodplain, and using locally accurate, science-based risk assessments to identify and prioritize projects and evaluate the costs and benefits of adaptation alternatives.
