Utilities Extension Project

July 2018 Update

July 2018 Update

Construction is now underway in all contract areas. Despite the wet season weather conditions, contractors continue to make significant progress. As of the end of June, approximately 150,974 linear feet (LF) of potable water, 101,996 LF of gravity sewer, 164,749 LF of irrigation water, 27,625 LF of transmission force main and 7,930 LF of storm drain piping has been installed. In addition to pipe installation, construction crews continue to prioritize issues affecting streets and drainage as the rainy season continues. Through July, a total of approximately 3.71 miles of 2-lane streets have been repaved in Contracts 5, 6 and 10. Following repaving, contractors will begin the driveway and swale restoration process.

Several major roads, including portions of Ceitus Parkway, Old Burnt Store Road, Embers Parkway, Chiquita Boulevard and Tropicana Parkway, are closed to though traffic or have reduced number of lanes due to construction activities. Specific information on the extent of the closures is provided on the North 2 Traffic Advisory Page. Please exercise caution while driving though construction areas.
