NOTE: While the City is dedicated to fulfilling this project as planned, it is no longer being funded by the Parks GO Bond. This is largely due to unexpected increases in costs.

STATUS:

  • Council approved Resolution 350-24 at the Oct. 30, 2024 City Council Meeting, awarding a contract to Burke Construction Group, Inc. for the Neighborhood Park Improvements at Tropicana Park.
  • Groundbreaking Ceremony: Nov. 18, 2024, 9 a.m. at 4101 Tropicana Parkway.
  • Construction: 85% complete
  • Roundabout design at Tropicana/Old Burnt Store Road is complete
  • Upcoming amenities:
    • Floating docks
    • A beach area
    • A gazebo
    • Fitness stations
    • Four pavilions
    • A playground
    • Restrooms
