Special Populations Fashion Show Fundraiser is Sat, March 11

The Guardian Angels for Special Populations volunteer group is excited to announce that the 14th Annual Special Populations Fashion Show and Auction will be held on Saturday, March 11, at the Westin Resort and Convention Center in Cape Coral. This year we have reserved all four conference rooms at the Westin, which will have seating for up to 500 people. Doors open at 10:00 am, with the event starting at 11:00 am. Enjoy a complimentary Happy Hour! There will also be a gourmet lunch and meet and greet, followed by a fashion show with Special Populations. This event includes many fun silent and live auction items that we are excited to present.

The experience of watching the Special Populations models strut their stuff along the runway to music while listening to their brief highlights is heartwarming. The show celebrates all abilities and will surely bring tears to your eyes. This year, the event will include a Silent Auction, Pic-a-Prize Game, Wine Pull, a Diamond Drop by John Michaels Jewelry Store, and a chance for attendees to try their luck in the 50/50 drawing and Lotto Board Raffle.

Event tickets are a $50 per person charity donation sold in advance only and available by calling (239) 574-0574 to charge by phone or in person at the Freida B. Smith Special Populations Center, 410 Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral. They are also available online at www.myspecialpops.org and at Pop’s Café in Cape Coral City Hall. Follow the group on Facebook at "I Love Special Pops!" We thank our Community Partner, Gunterberg Charitable Foundation, Event Sponsors, The Culliton Family, First Horizon Bank, Seminole Casino Hotel, Edward and Diana Wallach, the Kiwanis, and J Van Hart Provisions. We would also like to thank our Partner Sponsors, including the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Amy McGarry Law Office, and Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. Without the support of these organizations, none of this would be possible.

The Guardian Angels for Special Populations is made up of parents and community members who raise money to support the Freida B. Smith Special Populations Center. This past year, the Guardian Angels donated funds for a new bus, paid for our cooking class program, covered special events and scholarships, and so much more to enhance the quality of programming that the participants of Special Populations receive.
