City of Cape Coral Force Main Transmission Line Update

January 23, 2023

Starting Monday, January 23, and continuing through early February, motorists along SE 47th Terrace should expect delays and occasional lane closures during normal business hours while work continues. One lane will be open during construction, and flaggers are present to allow traffic to travel east and west along the corridor. The contractor will complete the work at the intersection of SE 47th Terrace and SE 6th Avenue this week, and they will begin going west from SE 6th Avenue towards SE 4th Place.

As part of the Community Redevelopment Agency’s infrastructure improvements in south Cape Coral, the City began installing force main (wastewater) transmission pipelines in late 2022 to strengthen the current force main infrastructure. The entire project encompasses four phases and will continue through fall of 2023.

Intermittent road closures or lane closures can be expected Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during this project. After-hours work is not anticipated, however, if unexpected road closures occur, Saturday or evening work is needed, the City of Cape Coral’s Utilities Department will make that determination and notify the community.

We thank you for your patience as we work to improve the City’s infrastructure and develop an increased capacity for our future growth.
