Bulk Waste Drop-Off Site (Pilot Program)

July 8, 2022

In an effort to enhance services available to the residents of Cape Coral, the City is reminding residents of the bulk waste drop-off site. The site is a complimentary service, made possible by a partnership with Waste Pro, and is an addition to the residential bulk item collection already provided. Residents are still able to place bulky waste curbside on their collection day.

This bulk waste drop-off site is a pilot program that started on Jan. 11, 2022, and will be implemented for one year. After evaluating the public response, the City will decide whether or not to open a permanent location. The bulk waste drop-off site operates Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Items that are accepted at the bulk waste drop-off site are as follows:
  • Acceptable bulky waste includes any debris that weighs more than 50 pounds or cannot fit into the cart, can, or refuse bag, excluding white goods.
  • Unacceptable bulky waste includes automotive vehicles or boats, vehicle components (excluding wheels and tires), and liquid waste including paint, hazardous waste, or industrial waste. Unacceptable waste also includes construction and demolition debris, trees or tree stumps, tree limbs larger than four inches in diameter or longer than 6’ feet in length (except palm fronds).
  • Acceptable white goods include household appliances, such as a refrigerator, washer. dryer, freezer, air conditioner, water heater, or similar items.
  • Regular garbage, recyclables, and household chemical waste are NOT accepted at the site.

Commercial businesses are not permitted to use the facility. The pilot program is an optional service for residential use only. Proof of residency may be required to dispose of items.

The bulk waste drop-off site is located on the west side of the North Cape Government Complex. The address for the complex is 1200 Kismet Parkway; however, the bulk drop-off site entrance is off NW 14th Avenue at the western portion of the complex.
