Cape Coral City Manager Rob Hernandez has promoted Interim Police Chief Anthony Sizemore to the position of Chief of Police.

Cape Coral City Manager Rob Hernandez has promoted Interim Police Chief Anthony Sizemore to the position of Chief of Police. His appointment is effective May 8.

“I am impressed by Tony’s dedication to the police department and the community, who have expressed similar sentiments,” said Hernandez. “He will be an outstanding police chief and will have a long-lasting, positive impact in our community.”

Chief Sizemore has 25 years of law enforcement experience. He served as the Deputy Chief of Police from 2018-2020 and as Interim Chief of Police since November 2020. During his career, he served as the Bureau Commander for the Patrol, Investigations, and Professional Standards divisions, as well as the Lieutenant of the Public Affairs Office. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police leadership program. He also is a graduate of Hodges University and has a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is a member of the Southwest Florida Police Chiefs Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF). Chief Sizemore is also the Executive Director of the Police Athletic League (PAL).
