Acceptable Bulk Waste

  • Automotive wheels and tires off the rim
  • Furniture: sofas, desks, tables, chairs, entertainment centers, bed frames, box springs, mattresses
  • Carpet cut into sections no longer than 4 feet and bundled at 40 pounds or less
  • Incidental building materials: screen, steel or wood doors, shower doors, toilets, drywall pieces, paneling no larger than 2' x 2'
  • Packing boxes and containers (must be broken down)
  • Tabletops, glass, or mirrors
  • Grills without propane tanks
  • Exercise machines
  • Push lawn mowers without oil or gas
  • Entertainment centers (broken down)
  • Swing sets (disassembled)
  • Televisions
  • Vacuums
  • Empty well tanks and equipment (broken down into individual components)
  • Empty pool equipment, such as pumps or filters (broken down into individual components)
  • Limit of two wood pallets per collection
  • Hot tubs must be cut up so that one person can handle the pieces

Unacceptable Waste

  • Automotive vehicles, riding lawn mowers, boats, and vehicle components, automotive batteries
  • Commercial vehicle truck tires
  • Liquid waste, including paint, hazardous waste, or industrial waste
  • Construction and demolition debris: discarded building materials, concrete blocks, pavers, concrete, masonry, tile, roofing
  • Trees or tree stumps, tree limbs larger than 4 inches in diameter or longer than 6 feet
  • Stone, dirt, land clearing material, stumps, root balls, logs
  • Whole hot tubs
  • Nonresidential waste
  • Contractor-generated waste
  • Bathtubs
  • Propane tanks
  • Gas cans
  • Fence sections
  • Insulation
  • Patio doors
  • Any single item weighing more than 150 pounds

Acceptable White Goods

  • Household appliances such as a refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, freezer, air conditioner, water heater, or similar items

Unacceptable White Goods

  • Central air units

Residential Bulk Waste Pick-Up

Bulk waste, garbage, recycling, and yard waste are all collected on the same day. Go to the "Check Your Trash Day" Search Tool above to determine your pick-up day.

The following rules apply when placing bulk items out for disposal:

  • Bulk items should not be stacked.
  • Cardboard should be broken down and placed in the recycle bin.
  • All items need to be placed within 3 feet of the road.
  • Any item that can fit in a trash bin should be placed in the bin.
  • "Move-Outs" are not part of the normal bulk pick-up process and must be scheduled for removal.  Note: A fee may be imposed.

  • Set out neatly within three feet of the curb
  • Not stacked on top of each other
  • Easy for two people to pick up

What's wrong with the bulk waste shown in these pictures?

  • Bulk waste has not all been placed within three feet of the road
  • Bulk trash and cardboard should not be stacked
  • Bulk trash contains small loose items and/or closed containers
  • Bulk waste is not neatly stacked and/or too close to totes

Examples of "Move-Outs":
