Traffic Engineering

The Traffic Engineering section of the Public Works Department is responsible for evaluating and analyzing the City’s transportation network – including roads, traffic signals, and traffic signs - to ensure that it operates safely and efficiently for all users of every mode of transportation. To meet this responsibility, the specific duties of the department include conducting traffic engineering analyses, conducting traffic engineering plan reviews of traffic signal designs and alterations, providing guidance and review of signing and marking operations, and responding to citizen’s and public officials' requests for new improvements or adjustments to an existing system, street lighting and responding to citizen’s inquiries.
