Public Works

Survey

The Survey Section of the Public Works Department provides professional surveying services for the City of Cape Coral in support of engineering projects within the public rights of way (ROW), and City-owned properties.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) Do you have a copy of my lot survey?
No, the City does not receive copies of individual, private property lot surveys. Generally the title company or realtor from whom you closed on the property with should have a copy of the survey.

2) What does that flag or wooden stake in my property mean?
The stake or flag is a marker that is placed by a surveyor to identify a specific point nearby, usually under the surface of the grass. The flag or stake is not the location of a property corner. Property corners are generally an iron rod, pipe, or concrete monument.
