Germ Experiment and Informational Video
This video demonstrates and gives a visual on how soap and hand sanitizer is effective while washing your hands. Soap lowers water’s surface tension. This is why soap is so effective in removing germs.

"Cloud Dough” Science Experiment Tutorial
Using household items, conduct a fun easy experiment with your family. Cloud Dough is also known as moon dough or moon sand and is considered a sensory play activity. Sensory activities engages various senses like smell, touch, or taste. This experiment is toddler safe and can keep kids busy for hours!

SpaceX Launch
On May 31, 2020, the Crew Dragon spacecraft became the first spaceflight for American astronauts from the United States since the last space shuttle mission back in 2011.
With this historic event, we thought it would be cool to share a link to SpaceX/NASA virtual game for all ages. This is the flight simulator used by astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley who piloted the SpaceX Crew Dragon to the International Space Station as part of the Demo-2 mission.

"Silly Walk Zones" in Cape Coral Parks!
When visiting Cape Coral's neighborhood parks, keep your eyes peeled for "Silly Walk" signs. These new signs mark "interactive zones" with directions for quick, fun activities you can complete on the spot! Share photos of your family participating on social media and tag #CCVirtualRec
"Silly Walk" signs can be found at the following Cape Coral Parks: Del Prado Linear Park, Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve, Giuffrida Park, Horton Park, Jaycee Park, Joe Stonis Park, Rotary Park Environmental Center, Saratoga Lake Park, Sirenia Vista Park and the Yacht Club Community Park.
Poetry - It's Fun!
Did you know that nursery rhymes, knock-knock jokes and riddles are all related to poetry?
Neighborhood Map Activity
Go for a neighborhood walk and bring paper and a pencil to write down everything you see. Examples include: Street names, community buildings, nature spots such as borrowing owls or Eagles nests, playgrounds, friend's house, etc.
--> Once home, take your notes and make a map of your neighborhood with all that you have listed!
"My Coronavirus Story" Activity
Living in the age of COVID-19 is a very strange and confusing time for all of us - and probably even more so for children. This activity encourages children to share their perspective of the current situation through words and drawings.
