Extending contingent offers of employment to selected individuals includes providing an offer letter stating the position’s salary, start date, and other terms and conditions of employment. It should be clear that the offer is contingent upon passing the background check and any pre-employment screenings.

BACKGROUND CHECK     background-check
One of the final steps of the hiring process is conducting a background check to review candidates’ criminal history, verify previous employment, education, motor vehicle history, required certification(s), professional reference, and credit checks (when applicable). In addition, depending on the position, successfully passing a pre-employment drug test and physical may be required.

ONBOARDING      welcome to the team
New hires will be contacted by the Talent Acquisition team after the background check is completed to discuss the final phase of our hiring process. This includes confirming a start date, as well as an email notification directing them to the City’s electronic onboarding portal to complete new hire forms before their first day of employment. In addition, a visit to the Human Resources department will be required to present the necessary documents to complete the Federal I9 form and E-Verify process.
