REVIEW     Review green
As job applications are received, the Talent Acquisition team reviews applications/resumes/cover letters based on the minimum qualifications of the position. Qualified applicants are notified via email of next steps of the hiring process. Unqualified applicants are notified via email and withdrawn from the respective applicant pool.

INTERVIEW      interview color
The Talent Acquisition team forwards qualified applications to the hiring manager for further review and consideration; candidates most suitable for the position are selected to be interviewed/tested and invited to participate in a test and/or panel interview onsite. This process is conducted to determine whether the candidate will be extended an offer of employment.

OFFER     job offer color.jpg_fit=scale
Extending contingent offers of employment to selected individuals includes providing an offer letter stating the position’s salary, start date, and other terms and conditions of employment. It should be clear that the candidate understands the offer is contingent upon passing the background check and any pre-employment screenings.

BACKGROUND CHECK     background-check
One of the final steps of the hiring process is conducting background checks to review candidates’ criminal history, verify previous employment, education, motor vehicle history, required certification(s), and credit checks (when applicable). In addition, depending on the position, successfully passing a pre-employment drug test and physical may be required.

ONBOARDING      welcome to the team
New hires will be contacted by the Talent Acquisition team after the background check is completed to discuss the final phase of our hiring process. This includes confirming a start date, as well as an email notification directing them to the City’s electronic onboarding portal to complete new hire forms prior to his/her first day of employment. In addition, a visit to the Human Resources department will be required to present the necessary documents to complete the Federal I9 form and E-Verify process.
