It is Risk Management’s goal to educate and provide training for City employees on safety to limit their exposure to unsafe conditions, in turn, reducing the amount of Workers’ Compensation claims. When an employee returns to work after an injury and is unable to perform their duties for a short period of time, the light duty program is utilized along with re-training, if necessary.
The Risk Management staff investigates all accidents. Paperwork is completed electronically and follow-up is consistently completed to ensure all procedures and recommendations are followed.
Risk Management tracks all employee injuries, accidents, and time lost. This data is updated frequently to keep the City of Cape Coral on track and aware of the importance of safety to reduce the potential for accidents.
