The City of Cape Coral provides funding to local not-for-profit agencies for the production, preservation and rehabilitation of affordable housing.  These programs target very low, low and moderate income households.  All programs are governed by applicable state and federal regulations and are available on a first come, first available basis.

Are you looking for affordable homeownership opportunities?
Affordable homeownership opportunities are available through Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties.

Habitat for Humanity offers new and rehabilitated homes to income qualified households.  For more information on these programs or qualification requirements, please contact the agency directly at 239-652-HOME (4663) or www.habitat4humanity.org.

Emergency rehabilitation assistance is currently suspended.

Are you looking for assistance for connecting to city utilities?
The City of Cape Coral has recently restarted its utility expansion project.  As a component of this, pending grant approval, the City will be offering assistance to low-income households with the connection of the home to the utility lines, the septic abandonment, and meter fees.  Assistance will be limited to income-qualified households, and funds are limited.  This program is currently suspended.

For information on Section 8 housing vouchers, please contact the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers at (239) 344-3220.  This agency is responsible for Section 8 vouchers throughout Lee County, including the City of Cape Coral. How do I know if I am income qualified?
Each year the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and Florida Housing Finance Corporation distributes the income limits for the Cape Coral-Fort Myers Metropolitan Statistical Area.  Agencies will qualify clients based on this table and information provided by your employer and financial institution.  Below are the current income limits (subject to change).
