Boards and Committees - Vacancies

Vacancies occur on boards and committees on a regular basis due to term limits, resignations, or other circumstances.  Current vacancies and timelines/requirements for submitting applications are listed below.

NOTE:  All applicants for any City Board, Commission or Committee must be a Citizen of the United States and a resident of the City of Cape Coral. 


Boards that require a Form 1

Please complete both forms above and submit originals to the City Clerk's Office.

Current Boards/Committees/Commissions Vacancies:

Construction Regulation Board - 2 Vacancies

Applicants must be Citizen of the United States and Resident or have their principal place of business within City of Cape Coral, Florida.

Whenever possible, applicants will be selected from the following categories:
- One Licensed Pool Contractor, B License or higher (Category 6)

- Two Consumer Representatives, may be resident of Cape Coral and who is not, and has never been, a member or practitioner of a profession regulated by the board or a member of any closely related profession (Category 9)

Please identify the category in which you qualify on your application.
The deadline to receive applications for the one Licensed Pool Contractor, B License or higher and  two Consumer Representatives is no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022.

Nuisance Abatement Board – 7 Members 2 Alternates
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizen of the United States
- Resident of Cape Coral, Florida
The deadline to receive applications is no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022.

Current Boards/Committees/Commissions Vacancies:

Affordable Housing Advisory Committee - 2 Vacancies 
Applicants must be Citizen of the United States and Resident of Cape Coral, Florida.

Whenever possible, applicants will be selected from the following categories:

- Banking or Mortgage Banking industry (Category b)
- For-profit provider of affordable housing (Category e)
- Not-for-profit provider of affordable housing (Category f)

Please identify the category in which you qualify on your application.
The deadline to receive applications is no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022.


Budget Review Committee - 1 Vacancies*
Applicants must be Citizen of the United States and Resident of Cape Coral, Florida:  *
Established financial background, which may include an educational background, experience, or both in a government budget process or private sector process, accounting experience, or high-level financial management experience, such as a Chief Financial Officer that has directly overseen budgetary processes, including the preparation and implementation of a budget for a large organization or company.
*An alternate could also be chosen from the same pool of applicants. 
The deadline to receive applications is no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday,  May 20, 2022.

Cape Competes Advisory Board – 7 Members and 1 Alternate
Resident of the City of Cape Coral, or An Owner, or A General Manager of a business whose principal place of business is located within the City and who possesses a local business tax receipt issued by the City.    

Whenever possible, applicants will be selected from the following categories:
- One Commercial Real Estate Brokerage (Category 1), or
- One Commercial lending or financing (Category 2), or
- One Architectural services (Category 3), or
- One Engineering services (Category 4), or
- One Contractor or Developer of non-residential buildings or properties (Category 5), or
- Two Owners or General managers of a business whose principal place of business is located within the city (Category 6).

The deadline to receive applications is no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022.

Anticipated Vacancy for
Waterway Advisory Board – 1 Alternate
 
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizen of the United States
- Resident of City of Cape Coral
- Geographic diversity of applicants
- Experience of applicants with fresh water or salt water
- Interest of applicants in waterways, such as fishing, boating, residing on water
- Background, education, or experience of applicants in water-related matters
- Whether applicants have direct or indirect access to waterways
The deadline to receive applications is no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Lee County Metropolitan Planning Commission - Citizens Advisory
Committee (CAC) – 1 Vacancy      

Requirements:
Citizen of the United States and Year-Round Resident of Cape Coral. There is a two step approval process, first by City Council and then, second by the Lee County MPO
