Mid Cape Global Academy Student Arrested for Threats

(February 8, 2023)- On February 7, 2023, School Resource Officers from the Cape Coral Police Department were made aware of a school threat at 76 Mid Cape Terrace (Mid Cape Global Academy).

The School Resource Officer assigned to this school was informed that a 7th-grade student, later identified as Michael De Jesus Hernandez-Narvaez (W/M 12-29-2009, 1502 NW 19th Street), had posted a threatening message on the school's Tik Tok account. Mr. Hernandez- Narvaez posted, "Imma shot the school up on 3.08.23."

Cape Coral Police Department's Major Crimes Unit Detectives arrived at Mr. Hernandez- Narvaez's home address and took over the investigation. After initially denying posting the written threat, the investigation revealed that Mr. Hernandez- Narvaez admitted that he did post the threat, but he was only kidding. Mr. Hernandez- Narvaez stated that he understood the severity of his threats.

Mr. Hernandez-Narvaez was subsequently transported to Lee County Jail.

Mr. Hernandez-Narvaez was charged with the following:

*Written or Electronic Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting F.S.S. 812.10(2)(b).
