(February 6, 2023) - On February 5, 2023, at approximately 6:34 p.m. Officers from the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle traffic accident at 200-block of NE Pine Island Road. Major Crash Investigators responded to the scene. The synopsis of the crash from the Major Crash Investigator is as follows:

VEHICLE 1: 2014 Nissan Altima, Florida tag# II41KY.

VEHICLE 1 DRIVER: Gerny Alvarez Llerena, DOB 08/29/1989, 147 Santa Barbara Pl, Cape Coral, FL, 33991.

VEHICLE 1 DRIVER INJURIES: Llerena suffered no injuries in the crash.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 1: Mayra Antaigua-Abad, DOB 12/16/1993, 1306 NE 7th Ave, Cape Coral, Fl, 33909.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 1 INJURIES: Antaigua-Abad suffered minor injuries in the crash.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 2: Gendry Alvarez, DOB 10/27/2022, 1306 NE 7th Ave, Cape Coral, FL, 33909.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 2 INJURIES: Alvarez suffered no injuries in the crash.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 3: Joaquin Estafano Palle-Antaigua, DOB 03/20/2012, 1306 NE 7th Ave, Cape Coral, FL, 33909.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 3 INJURIES: Palle-Antaigua suffered no injuries in the crash.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 4: Jacziel Caleb Palle-Antaigua, DOB 05/27/2016, 1306 NE 7th Ave, Cape Coral, FL, 33909.

VEHICLE 1 PASSENGER 4 INJURIES: Palle-Antaigua suffered no injuries in the crash.

VEHICLE 2: 2010 Harley Davidson FLHT Classic, Michigan tag# QK292

VEHICLE 2 DRIVER: Raymond G Danielski, DOB 02/23/1954, 832 Parliament Ave, Madison Heights, MI, 48071.

VEHICLE 2 DRIVER INJURIES: Danielski, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

VEHICLE 2 PASSENGER: Robin Lynn Atkins, DOB 01/15/1960, 49753 Serenity Ln, Shelby Township, MI, 483157.

VEHICLE 2 PASSENGER INJURIES: Atkins suffered serious bodily injuries.

SYNOPSIS:

Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound on SR 78 (NE Pine Island Rd) and was stopped in the left turn lane to turn south onto NE 2nd Pl.

Vehicle 2 was traveling eastbound on SR 78 (NE Pine Island Rd) in the inside travel lane and was approaching the intersection of NE 2nd Pl.

Vehicle 1 proceeded with its left turn and turned into the path of Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 applied heavy braking and steered to the right to avoid an collision but was unable to do so.

The front wheel of Vehicle 2 struck the right side of Vehicle 1 near the front wheel. The impact ejected both occupants of Vehicle 2. The occupants went airborne over the hood of Vehicle 1 and they came to final rest on the southside of the eastbound lanes.

Both occupants of Vehicle 2 sustained life threatening injuries and were trauma alerted to the hospital. The driver of Vehicle 2 passed away at the hospital from the injuries he sustained in the crash. The passenger of Vehicle 2`s injuries were later downgraded to serious but non-life-threatening.

Due to the extent of the injuries, Traffic Homicide Investigator J. Barkley responded and assumed the investigation. DRE. Martini also responded and assisted as well as Forensic Tech J. Sdrenka and VA. B. Tucker.

Alcohol/drugs ARE NOT a factor in this crash. Speed is also NOT a factor in this crash. Next-of-kin HAVE BEEN notified.

The Traffic Homicide Unit deployed the Leica RTC360 scanner and laser mapped the scene of the incident.
