Student Arrested for Written Threats on Bathroom Stall

(December 5, 2022)- On December 1, 2022, School Resource Officers from the Cape Coral Police Department were made aware of a school threat at 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd South (Cape Coral High School).

The School Resource Officer assigned to this school was informed that a student, later identified as Madison K. Trumpy (W/F 9-25-2003, 3520 SW 17th Place), was possibly a suspect who had written, “I have a gun in my bookbag, and I am going to kill all of you! You better run! “On one of the bathroom stalls in the girl’s restroom. School administration reviewed video footage near the restroom, which helped identify Miss Trumpy as the suspect; another student inside the restroom witnessed Miss Trumpy as the person who had written this message.

Cape Coral Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives matched the writing on the stall to Miss Trumpy’s handwriting. She later admitted to writing this threat and stated that she took a photo of the threat and reported it to a counselor out of guilt. Miss Trumpy also admitted to writing a bomb threat on August 17, 2022, in the girl's bathroom at Cape Coral High School.

Miss Trumpy was subsequently transported to Lee County Jail.

Miss Trumpy was charged with the following:
