Results of September 15, 2022 DUI Enforcement Operation

(September 16, 2022) - The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a grant-funded DUI enforcement operation, " Operation Under the Influence, Under Arrest" on September 15, 2022, targeting impaired driving. Funding was provided by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in thirty-two citations (fifteen for violating a traffic control or signal device). No drivers stopped were found without a seatbelt, and we thank the motoring public for always wearing their seatbelts.

ARRESTED: Christopher John Schaffner (W/M 03-10-1988, 1221 NE 14th Ave)
CHARGES: DUI

Traffic stop for speed (62 in a 40) led to the discovery that Schaffner was driving under the influence.  Breath refused.

Hernandez

ARRESTED: Sergio Hernandez Lopez (W/M 12-07-1981, 4488 Golfview Blvd, Lehigh Acres)
CHARGES: DUI & DWLS

Traffic stop for failure to maintain a lane and impeding the flow of traffic led to the discovery that Hernandez Lopez was driving under the influence and that his license had been suspended indefinitely.  Breath .122 / .122
